About Archie

He's Back .....
It's been a few years since I've had a website. Many of you probably thought I'd died or gone back to Mars.
Upon retiring after a 25 year career as a mainframe programmer, I tried my hand at recording bands. I started a company called Hoydog, Inc. and had some interesting experiences. I lugged around a 24-track recorder and tapped into soundboards across the Southeast then would bring the tracks back to my home studio and mix the tunes to create CDs for the bands and their fans. Most were just for posterity and archive purposes, some bands would use the recordings as learning tools, some would offer the CDs for sale at their merchandise tables. High spots in that venture were being able to record the likes of Bruce Hornsby, Dickie Betts, Edwin McCain, Taj Mahal, Bo Diddley, etc.. The absolute highlights of that career were two trips to Jamaica where I recorded 4 Little Feat concerts.
Well, it had it's moments - but I wasn't making as much money as I was spending, so I shut Hoydog down and simply disappeared into my cave where I've been hiding for the past couple of years.

We now have two 4-month old  NigerianDwarves which I named Butch and Sundance.

I've been doing OK lately. I'm 67 and am drawing social security. I've had several surgeries on hands, knee, shoulder, and am missing a gall bladder. I've been having some heart issues with AtrialFibrillation lately, but I'm still alive which is what counts. My pacemaker and drugs keep me alive.
